Mainland China’s Critical Illness (CI) insurance market has been included in our study since 2000. During this time, the penetration of the CI insurance market in China has increased significantly, largely due to economic growth and increased consumer awareness of insurance products across China. The incidence of CI has also increased, and the industry has created a new set of CI definitions, implemented on 1 February 2021.
