In February 2025, our Stamford employees came together to help make a difference in our community. Together with the incredible staff at Pacific House Emergency Shelter, we provided and served dinner to 99 men and young men. The shelter’s mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment for men in need and to help prevent and end homelessness. Learn more about this wonderful organization here.

Kara Raiguel
President and CEO, General Re Corporation

Kara is President and CEO of General Re Corporation, having joined the group in 2016. Previously, Kara spent 16 years in Berkshire Hathaway’s Reinsurance Division in Stamford, CT, where she prospected reinsurance and insurance opportunities and priced loss portfolio transfers and acquisitions. During this tenure, she was responsible for Guard Insurance Group, the Division’s India reinsurance portfolio, Berkshire Hathaway’s financial guaranty insurer, BHAC. Kara also established a California Workers’ Compensation portfolio for National Liability & Fire Insurance Company. Kara began her career in 1994 with CIGNA Property & Casualty in Philadelphia, PA. She obtained an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Ursinus College and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Craig Beardsley
Treaty North America Manager – The Mutual Practice

Craig is Senior VP, Manager of The Mutual Practice in Treaty North America. Craig has been instrumental in the management of the Mutual Practice business since 2018 when he was named Chief Underwriter. Previously, he served as a Treaty production underwriter working with Regional, Specialty and National accounts. He has also served as manager with responsibility for Gen Re's Umbrella products. Craig joined Gen Re in 1990 in the Casualty Facultative department, working in Atlanta and Charlotte. He joined the Treaty department in 1998 as an account executive and later assumed an underwriting role. Craig holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University.

Erin Kang
Chief Underwriter – Regional & Specialty and Mutual Practice

Erin is Senior VP, Chief Underwriter, leading the underwriting and pricing teams for Gen Re’s Treaty Mutual Practice and Regional & Specialty business. She joined Gen Re in 2019 from AIG, where she spent eight years in various roles, including Global CUO of Personal Insurance and Global Head of Casualty Pricing and Analytics. Erin spent most of her early career years at Chubb, where she was responsible for commercial lines pricing, capital modeling, and establishing performance metrics for business units. She has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry and holds a B.S. in Statistics from Ewha University in Seoul. Erin holds the FCAS and MAAA designations.

Glenn Frankel
Head of North America P&C Claims

Glenn is Senior VP, Head of North America Property/Casualty Claims. He joined Gen Re in 2020 bringing with him extensive experience in the insurance and reinsurance space. He previously worked at CNA where he led Complex Commercial Claims, including Environmental & Mass Tort, Construction Defect, Life Sciences and Opioid exposures. Prior to that, he was in leadership roles at The Hartford’s insurance and reinsurance units. Glenn started his career with the law firm of Day Pitney and as Managing Counsel at Travelers.

Tim Fletcher
Sr. Emerging Issues Specialist

Tim is Gen Re’s VP, Senior Emerging Issues Specialist. He leads the company’s Emerging Issues unit, drawing from years of experience and a wide range of responsibilities to identify emerging risks and exposures to Gen Re clients and internal colleagues. He is a frequent contributor to Gen Re's blog and edits the UM/UIM Liability Laws Survey publication. Tim is a graduate of the University of Minnesota (Bachelor of Arts, Journalism) and the Mitchell Hamline School of Law (Juris Doctor). Tim is a past-president of the Atlanta Chapter of CPCU. He currently serves on CPCU’s RE&S (Reinsurance, Excess & Surplus) Interest Group and as Chapter Governor for the Upper South Region. He is a guest lecturer on Risk Management and Insurance at Georgia State University as well as many industry organizations. He holds the J.D. and CPCU designations.

Molly Corbett
Chief Risk Officer - North America P&C

Molly is Senior VP, Chief Risk Officer for North America Property & Casualty, responsible for developing and implementing Gen Re’s risk management initiatives in collaboration with the CEO and corporate risk committees. In addition, Molly has responsibility for the North America Reinsurance Contracts team supporting Gen Re’s North America Treaty and Facultative departments, and she contributes to the research and development of various executive presentations. Molly began her career with Gen Re in 2007 as a Property Facultative underwriter in the Hartford and Boston offices. Molly earned a BA from Fairfield University and an MBA from the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University.

Frank Bria
Treaty Sr. Account Executive

Frank is a Senior VP, Sr. Treaty Account Executive for Regional & Specialty Companies. He is responsible for strategically growing and maintaining Gen Re’s relationships with senior management and executive boards of P&C insurers. Frank also serves as Gen Re’s representative for NAMIC and AASCIF. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences on corporate governance, legal and regulatory issues, as well as emerging technology issues, including Insurtech, blockchain and cyber security. Prior to joining Gen Re’s business operation, Frank served as an Assistant General Counsel in our corporate legal department. He was responsible for managing complex litigation and designing and implementing global compliance programs for Gen Re and its international subsidiaries. Frank received his BA from Amherst College and his JD from the Boston College Law School. He serves as a Board Director for The World Affairs Forum and Horizons at New Canaan Country School.

Stephanie Chang
Treaty Account Executive

Stephanie Chang is a Treaty Account Executive with the Regional & Specialty and Mutual Practice teams, based in the Los Angeles branch office. She brings a strong background in underwriting and business development, having previously held various roles at Genesis, a subsidiary of Gen Re. Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Psychology from UCLA, and holds the ARM, RPLU and ARe designations.

Brian Monahan
Treaty Sr. Account Executive

Brian is a VP, Treaty Account Executive with The Mutual Practice. Based in Columbus, Ohio, he is responsible for developing new treaty opportunities and servicing key accounts throughout the Midwest Region. Brian began his Gen Re career in the Chicago office in 1996 as a Casualty Facultative Underwriter. He is a graduate of Illinois State University where he earned a BS in Accounting, and he holds the ARe and RPLU designations.

Claudine Rossman
Treaty Sr. Account Executive

Claudine is a Sr. Treaty Account Executive in The Mutual Practice. Prior to joining Gen Re, she was a member of the AXIS Re executive team as a global broker executive. She previously has worked for Arch Insurance and Berkley Re among others in various capacities. Claudine started her career as an accountant and has served as a primary underwriter, a ceded reinsurance officer, a treaty underwriter, a global strategic account executive and a global broker executive. Claudine is a graduate of Fordham University School of Business where she earned a BA in Accounting.

Himanshu Shah
Treaty Sr. Account Executive

Himanshu is a Senior VP, Treaty Account Executive with Gen Re’s Regional & Specialty division. He started his career with Gen Re in 1990 in the Los Angeles Casualty Facultative branch, before joining American Re (later purchased by Munich Re) in 1995. He has held a variety of senior leadership roles in his past, including Sr. Client Management position at Munich Re and also Managing Director with Guy Carpenter. Himanshu brings significant underwriting, business development and client management experience across the Regional, Mutual, National and Specialty business segments. He also holds an MBA in Financial Management.

Maria Slowinski
Treaty Sr. Account Executive

Maria is a Senior VP, Treaty Account Executive and marketing strategist for The Mutual Practice. Maria joined Gen Re's Property Facultative department in 1996. She previously worked with a global commercial insurance company in various underwriting and management positions. Maria obtained a B. S. degree in Business Administration from Butler University and her M. S. in Managerial Communication from Northwestern University. Maria serves on the NAMIC Management and DEI committees, and she has chaired the NAMIC Commercial Lines committee.

John Stone
Treaty Sr. Account Executive

John is a Senior VP, Sr. Treaty Account Executive and team leader in the Mid-Atlantic region for The Mutual Practice. Based in Gen Re’s Philadelphia office, John is responsible for marketing Gen Re’s full range of Treaty products to clients and prospects in the region. With Gen Re since 1991, John previously worked in Midwest region as Treaty Branch Manager, and in the New York and Atlanta branches as a Treaty Account Executive. John has served on Gen Re’s Business Development Council’s for the Umbrella, Employment Practices and E&O lines of business. Prior to joining Gen Re, John worked in the Athletic Department of the University of Pittsburgh with responsibilities for the football program administration. John attended the University of Pittsburgh and received a BA in Business and Economics in 1989 and an MBA in Finance in 1991. He holds the CPCU designation. John has served on the Advisory Board of the Insurance Institute’s Associate in Reinsurance program.

James Whamond
Treaty Sr. Account Executive

Jim is a Senior VP, Treaty Account Executive for The Mutual Practice. Jim has a Multiline background and over the years has worked with a broad spectrum of company types, lines of business and geographies. Jim began his career at the Aegon Reinsurance Co. of America. He then joined National Re in 1987, which was acquired by Gen Re in the fall of 1996. During his career, he's held various positions including Treaty Marketing Manager for National Re’s UK Branch and Treaty Marketing Manager for Gen Re’s South and West Regions. Jim holds a BA in Physics from the College of the Holy Cross.

Lucille Hyland
Contracts

Lucille is Senior VP, Contracts for Gen Re’s North America P&C Contracts Department, which services the three Treaty business units as well as program contracts written in our Facultative business units, and public entity agreements written in GenStar and Genesis, Gen Re subsidiaries. She has spent over 30 years in the (re)insurance industry, most of them at Gen Re, focusing on reinsurance contract and primary insurance policy wording.

Victor Min
Head of Treaty Cat Underwriting

Victor is Senior VP, Head of Cat Underwriting for Treaty North America. He joined Gen Re in 2021 and is responsible for overseeing Property Cat underwriting and modeling. He started his insurance career with Towers Perrin in 2003 as an actuary. He then held various actuarial positions at Zurich North America, Axis Insurance and Munich Re. In 2011, Victor transitioned to Property underwriting at Munich Re and handled many large Pro Rata, Per Risk and Cat XL deals. He was also instrumental in designing and improving property underwriting strategies. Victor received a BA from University of International Business and Economics (Beijing, China) and MBA from University of San Francisco. He holds the FCAS and MAAA designations.
