Harindra Chandrasena assumed the role of President & CEO of General Re Life Corp. effective January 2023.* Harindra joined Gen Re in 2021 as a Vice President, tasked with building out the US Life & Health Inforce Management function among other responsibilities. He was then promoted to Senior VP and also head of the Corporate Development function.
Harindra has over a decade and a half of diverse experiences including inforce management, portfolio analytics, valuation, products, derivatives modelling and risk management within the wealth management, insurance and reinsurance industries. Before joining Gen Re, his last role at Swiss Re was to lead their North America Inforce Management function. Harindra began his career at Manulife/John Hancock.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Actuarial Science from the University of Manitoba, and he is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. Congratulations, Harindra

Jim Greenwood, Head of Traditional Markets, assumed responsibility for leading the management team of our Individual Life, Group & Specialty, and Individual Health divisions. Jim joined Gen Re in 1983 and his past experiences include management of various profit centers and functions including sales and marketing, underwriting, claims, market research and medical. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.
Joe Gigli assumed the role of Head of Transitional Markets which includes Inforce Management. Joe joined the Inforce Management team as a Reinsurance Financial Analyst in 2021. He started in the reinsurance industry as an Actuarial Analyst at Swiss Re. Joe’s experience includes being a key contributor in building portfolio analytic infrastructure, along with supporting inforce transaction deals. Other experience includes AXIS model transformations and new model builds on the AXIS platform. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Texas – San Antonio.
Nabaneeta Sirkar, Head of Products, in addition to her current Analytics and Research responsibilities, assumed management responsibility for Pricing and working closely with our Global Research & Development team. She joined Gen Re in 2019 and was previously Head of Risk, Research, and Data Analytics. Prior to that, she was Business Analytics Manager when she supported both our Property/Casualty and Life/Health businesses. Nabaneeta has years of experience providing analytical support across pricing, reserving, marketing and operations departments prior to joining Gen Re.
Donna Sivigny was promoted to Head of Individual Life Sales & Marketing, previously serving clients as Senior Account Executive. Prior to joining Gen Re, Donna worked at Baltimore Life where she led the pricing and product development teams, as well as participated in strategic and corporate development projects including automated and simplified underwriting, reinsurance and acquisitions. Her prior experience includes actuarial roles at F&G Life, AEGON Special Markets Group and CIGNA. Donna is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University at University Park, PA and earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Eric Golus, FSA, MAAA, is the Regional Chief Actuary for Individual Life and Interim Chief Pricing Officer. Eric joined Gen Re in 2001 and has worked on several different teams - Valuation, Pricing and Inforce Management. Prior to Gen Re, Eric worked for New York Life Insurance Company for eight years. Eric is a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics and Biometry.
Jay Barriss, FSA, MAAA, assumes the roles of Regional Chief Actuary for Health and Chief Pricing Officer for Individual Health. With more than 30 years’ experience in the Disability marketplace, Jay has been a long-time volunteer for the SOA, serving on their Education and Examination Committees and as a member of their experience study groups for both Group and Individual Disability. Jay co-authored the SOA’s COVID Impacts on IDI Industry Based on 2022 Survey Results report. Jay participated in creating the SOA’s Individual Disability reports “Analysis of Claim Termination Experience from 2006 to 2014,” and “2005-2015 Experience Adjustments to the 2013 IDI Valuation Table Policy Incidence Rates”. Jay currently serves as Chairperson of the SOA Individual Disability Experience Committee. He is also Treasurer of the Northern New England Actuaries Club. Jay is a graduate of University of New Hampshire where he received a BS in Mathematics and Statistics.
Dr. Jing Huang, FSA, MAAA, joined Gen Re as Global Life & Health Chief Actuary in December 2022. In her role she leads the Corporate Actuarial Services International and North America Life & Health teams, collaborates with local Appointed Actuaries around the globe in support of valuation, and works closely with senior leadership to support their evaluation and understanding of the business and results. Jing brings extensive executive experience from insurance and fintech companies such as Oscar Health, Ant Group, and AIG. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Fudan University and a Ph.D. from New York University.
Jonah Fox, MD, MHA, is VP, Chief Medical Officer Global Claims, having joined Gen Re last year. His experience includes the practice of medicine along with strategic, financial, and operational roles within the public and private sectors. He has designed and implemented solutions surrounding medical management and care delivery that result in improved quality, affordability, and satisfaction.
Gina Robert has joined our Individual Life Underwriting Department as AVP, Senior Underwriter. Gina joins us from Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company where she worked in several roles beginning in the law division prior to moving to underwriting. Her experience includes being the Underwriting Training Director at Massachusetts Mutual. She also was a foreign risk specialist and has presented at the M.U.D Group conference on the topic. Most recently, she was a director as part their large case unit. Gina received a B.A. in Law and Business at Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts, and an M.S. in Organizational Development from American International College.
Ana Martin joined Gen Re in November as a Valuation Actuary, coming to us from Transamerica where she worked on valuation, actuarial analysis, assumption setting, and GGY-AXIS modeling. Her recent focus has been on LTC for both pricing and valuation, but she also has experience with Individual Life valuation. Ana previously worked at KPMG and Royal Bank of Canada Insurance. Ana is an ASA with more than 10 years of experience. She graduated with honors with a degree in mathematics and statistics from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
Jeff Hao, joined Gen Re in November as a Valuation Actuary after several years at Mass Mutual where he most recently led the implementation of new GAAP LDTI functionality into GGY-AXIS models for certain group life products. His other responsibilities included U.S. stat and U.S. GAAP reporting, maintaining the cash flow testing model, and supporting new product launches. Jeff’s other experience includes working on a GGY-AXIS conversion of reserve models for individual life products, stable value product modeling, worksite product development, and economic capital analysis. He has finished all exams and will attain the FSA designation after FAC. Jeff has two advanced degrees from University of Connecticut: a Ph.D in Physiology and Neurobiology, and an M.S. in Mathematics with a Concentration in Actuarial Science.
Kayla Jolliffe joined Gen Re last year as a Claims Examiner. Her prior industry experience was with PartnerRe and Aurigen. She began her career as an underwriting case manager at a small Canadian reinsurance start-up and transitioned to their claims department. Kayla is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a B.A. in Economics.
Lisa Pegoraro joined Gen Re last year as a Claims Examiner, after working at MassMutual Life Insurance Company for many years. Her experience there includes the Client Services division processing contract changes, the Tax Department where she was responsible for calculating and reporting taxable distributions and performed audits, and the Reinsurance Department performing audits, processing claims, and reconciling payments received. She’s also worked at Manhattan Life Insurance Company as manager of the Claims Department.
Toni Ollerton joined Gen Re in September 2022 as VP, Operational Risk. Toni is responsible for external administration audits as well as internal process reviews. Prior to Gen Re, Toni worked at PartnerRe as Head, NAL Operations and Administration and Munich Re as a Treaty Analyst. Toni is a certified SCRUM Master and earned a BA from the University of British Columbia.
Kimberley Reis joined Gen Re in September 2022 as VP, Operations Manager Data & Reporting. Kimberley is responsible for the reporting and data ingestion of underwriting, inforce data, transactional data, and claims. Prior to Gen Re, Kimberley worked at Berkshire Hathaway as Senior Manager, Admin and Analytics and at BMO as Reinsurance Manager. Kimberley has an MBA in Finance and a certification in Data Analytics from Cornell.

Keith Brown, MSM, CLU, ChFC, FALU, FLMI, RHU, Senior VP, Head of Individual Life, was recently appointed to serve on ACLI’s 2023 Life Insurance Committee.
Donna Sivigny, FSA, MAAA, VP, Head of Individual Life Sales and Marketing, was recently appointed to serve on ACLI’s 2023 Distribution Committee.
Congratulations to Michael Krohn, FSA, CERA, MAAA, and Gen Re AVP, Actuary, who recently received an Outstanding Volunteer award from the SOA.
As chairperson for the Group Life Experience Committee from 2019-2022, Mike was key in the monthly release of the highly visible and respected Group Life COVID-19 Mortality Surveys. In addition to his analysis and writing, he frequently presented this report series and discussed COVID-19's impact on Group Life insurance products at numerous conferences and webcasts. Mike has been an integral member of the team that develops the Group Life Waiver of Premium Valuation Tables, developing margin recommendations for regulators, and he is also a member of the SOA’s Long Term Care Experience Committee.
