Cheryl Bultemeier was promoted to Vice President, Chief Individual Life Pricing Officer. Cheryl has over 20 years of pricing experience. During her three years with Gen Re, Cheryl has taken an expanded leadership role in our individual life team. Cheryl is well respected in the industry for her technical and communication skills. Cheryl will report directly to Bill Casill, SVP, Chief Actuary.
Heidi Alpren was promoted to Market Research, Vice President. Heidi has been an integral part of the Gen Re Research team for the past 18 years, overseeing annual industry studies, ad hoc research, and countless other projects in between. She is people oriented, responsive and driven to get results. With her positive attitude, organizational capabilities and strong work ethic, Heidi is well prepared to lead the research team. Heidi reports to Jim Greenwood, SVP, Risk Management.
Jennifer Digiovanni joined Gen Re in February as Assistant Vice President, Senior Underwriter. She has over 25 years of combined reinsurance and direct company underwriting experience and most recently worked at Reinsurance Group of America (RGA). Jennifer is a Fellow of the Academy of Life Underwriting, a Fellow of the Life Management Institute, and an Associate, Customer Service.
Mike Krohn joined Gen Re in January as an Actuary for the Group Valuation (Life, LTC and LTD) department. He has 10 years experience in the insurance industry and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries since 2014. Mike currently serves on the SOA Group Life Waiver Committee.
Jay Barriss joined Gen Re in October as Vice President, Individual Health Actuary. He is responsible for Group Life, LTC and Individual Disability valuation. He has 15 years actuarial experience focused on Individual DI valuation and pricing. Jay is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries since 1992 and he serves as chairperson for the Individual Disability Experience Committee.
Jean-Marc Fix joined Gen Re in October as head of Actuarial Research and Development. He has over 30 years actuarial experience, mostly in individual life and critical illness product development and reinsurance. He most recently worked at Optimum Re. Currently Jean-Marc is the chair of the SOA’s Living to 100 Symposium planning committee. Jean-Marc is a member of the SOA's Longevity Advisory Group and the Reinsurance Section Council. He also heads the Reinsurance Section Research Team, and serves as chair of the ACLI Genetics Task Force Actuarial sub-group. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
