The Leadership Summit provides Gen Re’s clients with access to the nation’s leading experts on foreign policy, global finance, key business trends, and technology developments.  In addition, it allows clients to strengthen their network by engaging with other industry leaders and experts.

Gen Re is fortunate to have a distinguished group of speakers who will discuss the opportunities and threats of the current geopolitical environment, protectionist trade policies, increased debt levels, and advancements in artificial intelligence.

Our welcome reception and dinner will be held on Sunday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m. The two business sessions (on Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5) kickoff at 8:00 a.m. and end around 11:30 a.m. Following the business sessions, you and your guest are encouraged to participate in one of the organized activities (see more detail in the activities section) or simply enjoy Pinehurst amenities.

Monday, May 4

Golf

MONDAY, MAY 4  |  PINEHURST NO. 2  |  TEE TIMES 12:50 P.M. - 2:40 P.M.

The Pounding Heart of Pinehurst Resort. Donald Ross’ masterpiece, No. 2 at Pinehurst, has served as the site of more single golf championships than any other course in America, also hosting back-to-back U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open Championships in 2014 and recently the 2024 U.S. Open. No. 2’s iconic sloped turtleback greens and wide fairways with native wiregrass and sand make this course a central part of any Pinehurst visit. When you walk this course, you walk in the footsteps of legends. 

Assorted boxed lunches will be available for golfers.

Spa

Choice of Massage or Facial

Pinehurst Signature Massage - Experience the relaxation and stress reduction combining light and medium pressure Swedish techniques and the healing properties of nature. Horseback Trail Riding

MONDAY, MAY 4, 12:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.

Embark on a leisurely, laid-back trail ride. You will trot through the stunning North Carolina countryside. Whether it’s your first time in a saddle or you are an old hat at horseback riding, it’s an experience you are sure to enjoy. 1.5 hours. Limit 10 participants. Boxed lunches will be available.

Please note transfer time for this activity is 40 minutes each way. The time shown is the shuttle departure and arrival times to and from the hotel.

Participants are required to wear closed-toe shoes such as sneakers or boots. Maximum weight is 225 pounds. No double riding.

Sporting Clays

MONDAY, MAY 4, 12:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.

While some aim for birdies on Pinehurst’s courses, others can aim their sights on the flying clays at the nearby range which winds through beautiful woodlands. After a safety orientation, you’ll receive instruction based on experience level and then enjoy a time of unforgettable target shooting. It only makes sense to do a little shooting during your trip to Pinehurst. After all, famed sharpshooter Annie Oakley taught lessons here for years! 2 hours. Boxed lunches will be available.

Cullinary Walking Tour

MONDAY, MAY 4, 12:30 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.

Starting at The Deuce, where you’ll overlook the 18th green of Pinehurst No. 2, you’ll sample its famous pastrami sliders before moving on. A short stroll away, you will visit the Holly Inn for hand-cut potato chips and chicken tempura wraps, then venture downstairs to the elegant 1895 Grille for a Carolina staple—authentic shrimp & grits. Finally, another stroll will bring you all to The Carolina Hotel and the delicious Mile High Key Lime Pie served there. At each stop, you’ll enjoy craft beer along with your tasting plates as you learn local history from a knowledgeable guide steeped in the lore of Pinehurst, the Tufts family, Donald Ross and many other intriguing icons and institutions that have influenced the area over the years. 3 hours. Limit 20 participants.

Comfortable clothing and walking shoes recommended.

James Creek Cider Tour

MONDAY, MAY 4  |  12:00 P.M.

Explore the art of cider making at James Creek Cider House, where tradition meets innovation. This tour includes a guided walk through the orchards, a behind-the-scenes look at the production process, and a tasting of their finest ciders. Limit 15 participants. Boxed lunches will be available.

Golf

A Carolina-Centric Course. Visually stunning from tee to green, No. 4 was created by Gil Hanse in the timeless tradition of golf in the North Carolina Sandhills. After its redesign in 2018, No. 4 was voted “Best New Course” and a “Top 100 Course,” and was chosen to host the 2019 U.S. Amateur. The rolling topography and dramatic vistas make it one of the most breathtaking courses at Pinehurst.

Zipline through the Tree Tops

TUESDAY, MAY 5, 12:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.

The longleaf pines surrounding Pinehurst Resort are amazing to look at from the ground, but wait until you see them from above. That’s just what this exciting excursion offers to those daring enough to take on the soaring (and perfectly safe) ziplines found nearby. Accompanied by trained guides, you’ll explore some of North Carolina’s most beautiful terrain, using different ziplines,  unique tree platforms, canopy sky bridges and spiral staircases to make your way over the landscape, including a stop to gaze at a stunning waterfall. 1.5 hours. Limit 10 participants. Boxed lunches will be available.

Fishing – Lake Pinehurst

TUESDAY, MAY 5, 1:00 P.M. - 4:30 P.M.

This private, 200-acre lake is a freshwater haven. Some of the fish that inhabit the lake are carp, bass and blue gill. All fish are catch and release. Boat type - pontoon. Participants will have fake bait and fishing poles will be provided. 2 hours. Limit 10 participants.

Lunch will be available in Ross/Tufts from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Raise The American Spirit

TUESDAY, MAY 5, 12:45 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.

Enjoy a private tour of a veteran-owned distillery; one of the founders is a survivor of the Black Hawk Down incident. Explore the distillation and production process of whiskey, vodka, and gin. This immersive experience includes a welcome cocktail, tour and tasting flight, and exclusive barrel sampling. Guests will also take home a complimentary rocks glass for their at-home bar. During the visit, guests will hear the inspiring story behind the distillery’s founding—one rooted in gratitude, resilience, and a commitment to honoring extraordinary service. Learn how its founders transformed a dream into a thriving 16,000-square-foot regional destination dedicated to crafting premium spirits. 2.5 hours. Limit 20 participants.

Paint and Sip

TUESDAY, MAY 5  |  1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.

Discover your inner artist with a little help from a local instructor who will jump-start your creativity while guiding you through the painting process. This is a great group activity focused on fun rather than skill. You’ll receive instruction along the way until you’ve completed your own masterpiece to take home. This is a wonderful way to commemorate your time here at Pinehurst. Limit 10 participants.

Pickleball

TUESDAY, MAY 5  |  1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Pickleball was invented in the early 1960’s and is currently the fastest growing sport in the U.S., with over 100,000 players nationwide. It’s an activity that combines the liveliness of tennis with the quick reflexes required for Table Tennis on a badminton-size court. Never played before? No problem!

Logistics

Gen Re will assume all conference expenses except air transportation, mini bar, dry cleaning, movies, retail purchases and any extended-stay expenses. Accommodations, meals, activities and taxes are included. Gen Re will provide all gratuities for events sponsored throughout this program. Round-trip ground transportation will be provided by Gen Re from/to the Raleigh/Durham International Airport (RDU).

Arrival

Gen Re will be providing roundtrip ground transportation between the Raleigh Durham International Airport (RDU) and The Pinehurst Resort. Shortly after you submit the registration form if you indicated that you require ground transportation, we will send you a link to book your arrangements directly with the transportation company. Once you book your transportation, you will receive a confirmation directly from the transportation company. If you have any questions regarding transportation, please contact Tonya BattyPlease note, the hotel is about an hour and twenty minute drive from the airport. 

Upon arriving into the Raleigh Durham International Airport (RDU), please proceed to the baggage claim carousel for your flight (whether or not your have checked luggage) where a representative with a personalized name/logo sign will greet you. The baggage claim area is located on the lower level of the terminal.

Renting a Car

If you are renting a car, here are driving directions to the hotel from RDU. Gen Re will pay for parking at the hotel during the event.

Departure

A ride back to RDU at the end of your stay will be scheduled approximately 2 1/2 hours prior to your flight departure time. Please meet your ground transporation representative inside the main lobby at the prearranged time.

Check-in and Registration

Upon your arrival at the hotel, please proceed to the front desk to handle your registration. Please note: Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Should you arrive before that time, guestrooms may not be immediately available. The hotel will make every effort to accommodate you regardless of your time of arrival. In the event that your room is not ready when you arrive, the hotel will gladly store your luggage and will direct you to The Gen Re Hospitality Suite, located in South, where you may relax until your room becomes available. On your day of departure, check-out time is 12:00 p.m.

Luggage

Please be sure all of your luggage, including golf bags, is tagged with personal identification showing your name and address. Golf bag covers should also carry your personal identification.

Climate

The average temperature in Pinehurst in May for a typical day ranges from a high of 80°F  to a low of 57°F. Plan to pack a sweater or light jacket.

Attire

Casual sportswear or resort wear is suggested for daytime activities. It is also suggested that you wear hats and sunglasses as well as sunscreen for outdoor activities. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday dinners are Resort Casual. We recommend you pack a jacket or sweater in case of chilly weather.

Gen Re Hospitality Suite

South will serve as our hospitality suite and will open at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, for early arrivals. Our suite will be open every day with refreshments and snacks. The suite will also be open for refreshments following our evening functions. We will post activity selections and updates in the suite daily as well as any program changes.

Gen Re Registration Desk

Please stop by our registration desk to receive your Welcome Folder after checking in at the front desk. Our registration desk is located in Grand Ballroom Foyer will be open from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Activities

We will arrange for you to take part in the activities that you select when you register. Included in your Welcome Folder will be a Schedule of Activities listing times, locations and special instructions.

If you have changes to your Activity Selections at any time after registering, please notify us promptly using the link in your confirmation email.

Guest Breakfast

Guests not attending business sessions can enjoy breakfast in Ross/Tufts from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. daily.

Medical Information / Emergencies

To ensure your safety and comfort while here as our guest, The Pinehurst Resort provides internal and external security on a 24-hour basis.

In the event you encounter an injury, illness or any other emergency, you may summon immediate assistance by touching Extension #0 on any house telephone.

Hotel check-in is at 4:00 p.m.
Check-out is at 12:00 p.m.
