The Historic Savannah House Museum Experience

WEDNESDAY, MAY 20, 1:30 P.M. 

Founded in 1733, Savannah's rich history, unique charm, and stunning beauty continually delight visitors.

The experience begins with a guided trolley ride through the Historic District, where stately Southern architecture, moss-draped live oaks, and centuries-old landmarks bring Savannah’s rich heritage to life.

The tour continues with visits to two of Savannah’s distinguished house museums, offering an intimate look into the city’s architectural elegance and the lives of those who shaped its remarkable history. 2 hours

Georgia Port Tour by Water

WEDNESDAY, MAY 20, 1:30 P.M.

This memorable experience departs from the River Street dock aboard a private 40-foot pontoon boat featuring comfortable lounge seating and a shaded, covered area for optimal comfort. As the vessel cruises along the Savannah River, guests will enjoy panoramic views of the historic waterfront, passing stately riverfront architecture and the energy of one of the Southeast’s most dynamic working ports.

Narrated by a knowledgeable local waterway expert, the journey offers fascinating insight into the operations of the Georgia Ports Authority. The group will also learn about the local river ecology, including the diverse wildlife that inhabits the Savannah River and its surrounding marshlands. 2 hours. Limit 35 participants.

Shrimp & Grits and Southern Biscuit Interactive Demo Cooking Class

WEDNESDAY, MAY 20, 1:30 P.M.

Discover the historical, cultural, and social influences that have shaped the cuisine of the Low Country. Throughout the presentation audience members are invited to join Chef Darin and assist in the preparations. Those who choose to observe will enjoy seeing their friends and coworkers join in the action. Enough food is prepared to provide a generous sampling portion for all guests of the group. 2 hours. Limit 40 participants.

Logistics

Gen Re will assume the cost of the seminar, all group meals during the event and, for anyone interested, a group activity on Wednesday afternoon. We respectfully ask that you assume the cost of your hotel room and transportation as well as any other incidentals that you incur throughout the seminar.

Gen Re will book your room for you under our group room block. The special hotel room rate is $225.00 per night, plus applicable occupancy taxes, and fees.

If you are flying into Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV), you may use Uber or Lyft to get to the hotel – the transfer takes about 20 minutes. Taxis are also available.

Meeting Logistics

Our event will kick off with an optional cocktail reception on the evening of Monday, May 18. On Tuesday morning, registration will open at 7:30 a.m. followed by breakfast beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Fleeting Restaurant. The business session will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Argyle Ballroom. On Wednesday afternoon, following the business session, you will have the option to choose one of three activities to participate in. You can make your choice when you RSVP.

Hotel check-in is at 4:00 p.m.
Check-out is at 11:00 a.m.

Dress Code

The dress code for our business sessions and dinners is business casual. For the optional activities, we suggest jeans or khakis and comfortable shoes.
