Casualty Facultative--Railroad Protective Liability -- What's Your Strategy? Brochure
Issue: August, 2009 Language: English
Summary:
Increasingly, insurance companies are relying on the surplus lines market or larger competitors to meet their insured contractors needs for Railroad Protective Insurance (RRP). This market reality is being driven by time sensitive requests for limits well above the $2 million/$6 million historical standard. On the surface, this risk outsourcing strategy seems to be a prudent way to meet contractors needs without over-leveraging the construction book with RRP capacity. In this brochure, we take a closer look, revealing some major pitfalls with this approach, and why risk transfer via Facultative reinsurance is a safer solution.

Facultative Matters Europe - Compression (size: 0,79MB)
Issue: November, 2008 Language: English
Summary:
One of the big topics that seems to surface from year to year is the "compression" of net and treaty structures by non-propertional facultative solutions. Even though it is most evident with proportional treaties, compression can also occur with non-proportional treaty structures or indeed when the net retention of a given client is further protected by a non-proportional treaty. This article will focus mostly oncompression in relation to a proportional treaty structure, including the effects of having the net protected by a non-proportional treaty.
