Summary: Bei der Quotierung nicht proportionaler RV-Verträge wird bei höheren Layern mit geringer Schadenerfahrung für die Einschätzung des mutmaßlichen Schadendurchschnitts oftmals auf Schätzverfahren zurückgegriffen, bei denen für die Schadenhöhe eine geeignete stochastische Verteilung zu Grunde gelegt wird. Während die empirischen Schäden keine zuverlässigen Aussagen über den Durchschnittsschaden insbesondere in schadenarmen Layern zulassen, liefert die stochastische Verteilung für jeden Layer oberhalb des Beobachtungspunktes Schätzwerte, selbst wenn dort bislang noch keine Schäden beobachtet wurden. In Frage kommen hierfür eine Vielzahl theoretischer Verteilungen, verbreitet ist insbesondere die Pareto-Verteilung.
