Taking care of our people is a top priority. In addition to our culture, DEI, and community impact, our Total Rewards Packages provide support and security for our employees and their families.

United States  |  Germany

Our people matter to us, and therefore a balanced life is important. We have comprehensive family and personal holiday/vacation offerings relevant to each of our global locations.

Our employees are our greatest asset, and we aim to provide them with the opportunity for financial well-being. At Gen Re, we are committed to providing you with a comprehensive Total Compensation package that includes direct cash compensation plus a broad range of plans and programs designed to help support your family and you.

We offer Gen Re employees a strong work/life balance through flexible work hours and models. Many employees have shared that working from home has been a positive experience. We are committed to ongoing flexibility, as leaders across Gen Re determine how, when, and where we will work together in the future. We are committed to balancing what worked well pre-pandemic and what we have learned during the pandemic to best support our clients, our business, and each other. For most roles this will be achieved through a hybrid work schedule and for some roles through fully remote working.

We all have important roles and responsibilities to keep each other safe and well, not only in our offices but also in our local communities. We offer a wide range of employee programs that support mental health as well as virtual health and wellness courses to support this endeavor. We encourage our colleagues to be active and spend time outside of work with friends and family.

Targeted Training

We work with the business to determine their needs, work with specialists to design and pilot training courses to ensure that training is relevant and will provide the required development for our employees. These courses are then rolled out to the wider organization to ensure that all employees benefit from the courses being developed.

Team Training

We work with teams to develop the most effective ways of working together and support them in developing efficient and lasting working practices.

Coaching

At Gen Re, coaching is seen as a positive step towards the growth and development of our employees. We feel everyone, at times, may need to talk through issues or concerns, or just needs support transitioning into a new role. Therefore, we ensure that coaching is available to all employees whenever they need it.

Professional Designation

At Gen Re, we encourage our employees to continue their education in the insurance and reinsurance industry through many nationally recognized insurance programs such as Underwriting or Actuarial programs. We provide support for program enrollment, books, and study material as well as awards.
