Facultative Client Accountant

Gen Re currently offers an excellent opportunity for a Facultative Client Accountant in our Stamford, CT office.

Job Description:

The Client Accountant handles all aspects of designated client’s premium account processing, serves as the primary accounting contact for the client and supports Gen Re client teams/business segments. The Client Accountant will generally be assigned North American based clients with a range of business relationships involving multiple business lines and reinsurance solutions. The Client Accountant’s accounting functions include: cash allocation, monthly balancing, billing, cash collection & application, monitoring and resolving suspense, and tracking/reconciling program business. The Client Accountant is expected to comfortably interact with internal and external clients and respond effectively to their questions and concerns.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and distributing client billing on a monthly basis.
  • Responding and reacting to client inquiries and requests.
  • Reconciling client statements.
  • Cash collection and application.
  • Managing receivables and suspense for their individual clients.
  • Interacting with multiple Business Units.
  • Ad hoc functions pertaining to account maintenance.


  • College Degree or 3 to 5 years of relevant reinsurance experience preferred
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the insurance/reinsurance industries
  • Fluent Spanish written and oral communication a plus.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of specific PC applications, including Microsoft Excel, Access and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Good customer service/client relations skills.
  • Solid organizational and self-management skills.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and projects to completion.
  • Works effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
