Assistant Account Executive

Our Unit Life/Health Asia is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified professional to be based in their Shanghai Office as Assistant Account Executive.

Your Role:

You are a member of the Shanghai Life and Health team contributing to the development and profitability of our business in China. You will assist in pricing and account management for assigned clients.

Job Description:

  • Assist in the planning, development and implementation of Gen Re’s marketing strategies in the China market
  • Assist in the identification of new business opportunities, keep track of market developments and help to establish solutions in close collaboration with the account management and actuarial teams
  • Research and help to price newly developed products
  • Provide support in the negotiation and preparation of reinsurance contracts
  • Provide support in managing client relationships
  • Provide support for research and other projects as assigned from time to time


  • A university graduate in Actuarial Studies or a nearly qualified Actuary
  • At least 2 to 3 years of prior work experience in a life insurance or reinsurance company with good knowledge of the China market
  • Solid actuarial knowledge with product pricing background
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written
  • Able to work independently as well as a strong team player
