Actuarial Associate

Our Life/Health Asia Unit is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified professional be based in their Hong Kong Office as Actuarial Associate.

Your Role:

You are a member of the Gen Re’s Regional Life/Health team responsible for providing support for experience analysis and related actuarial activities for our client companies in Hong Kong, China, and South East Asia.

Job Description:

  • Conduct analysis and experience studies to support the development of best estimates and reference tools
  • Provide survey results presentations to external clients and interpretation to internal stakeholders
  • Provide support in portfolio monitoring, keep track of dread disease products developments and work closely with the account management and actuarial teams
  • Provide support to other projects relating to data analytics as assigned from time to time

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Graduated with a degree in Actuarial Science or Statistics
  • Two years’ work experience is a plus, preferably in a life insurance or reinsurance company
  • Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office and other statistical software, such as R and SAS, would be advantageous
  • Experience in handling large volumes of data
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently as well as a strong team player

While the preference is for someone who fulfils the above experience criteria, we will consider exceptional candidates with less experience whom we deem capable of growing into the role.

We offer performance-based remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
