Actuarial Associate

Our Unit Life/Health Asia is seeking to appoint a suitable qualified professional to be based in their Shanghai Office as Actuarial Analyst.

Your Role:

You are a member of the Asia Life and Health team providing support for experience analysis, pricing, product development and related actuarial activities for our client companies in China.

Job Description:

  • Conduct analysis and experience studies to support the development of best estimates and reference tools
  • Provide support in product development
  • Provide support in developing and refining pricing models
  • Provide pricing support for reinsurance quotations
  • Involve in portfolio monitoring
  • Provide support for research and other projects as assigned from time to time


  • A university graduate in Actuarial Studies or a nearly qualified Actuary
  • At least 2 to 3 years of prior work experience in a life insurance or reinsurance company
  • Working knowledge of data analytics and experience in “R” or other statistical analysis tools would be advantageous
  • Related work experience in product development and pricing for the China market
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written
  • Able to work independently as well as a strong team player

While our preference is for someone who fulfils the above experience criteria, we will consider exceptional candidates with less experience whom we deem capable of growing into the role.

We offer performance-based remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
