Account Executive

Our Unit Life/Health Asia is seeking to appoint a suitable qualified professional to be based in their Shanghai Office as Account Executive.

Your Role:

You are a member of the Asia Life and Health team contributing to the development and profitability of our business in China. You have pricing and account management responsibilities for assigned clients.

Job Description:

  • Support the planning, development and implementation of Gen Re’s marketing strategies in the China market
  • Identify new business opportunities, keep track of market developments and establish solutions in close collaboration with the account management and actuarial teams
  • Research and price newly developed products
  • Support the negotiation and preparation of reinsurance contracts
  • Develop and build strong client relationships
  • Provide support for research and other projects as assigned from time to time


  • A qualified Actuary or a nearly qualified Actuary
  • At least 5 to 6 years of prior work experience in a life insurance or reinsurance company with robust knowledge of the China market
  • Solid actuarial knowledge with product pricing background
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good command of English and Chinese, both spoken and written
  • Able to work independently as well as a strong team player

While our preference is for someone who fulfils the above experience criteria, we will consider exceptional candidates with less experience whom we deem capable of growing into the role.

We offer performance-based remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
